Support Research Infrastructure

Our current research expenditures are $150-200k per year. With current success rates of 20-25% for proposals submitted to NSF and NIH, it is often difficult to plan for the future based on federal research grants alone. Donations that can offset full dependence on federal grant money would provide flexibility in planning for the future.

What is Needed

There are a variety of opportunities to setup endowments that could support research at SIU. We appreciate any donation of any size towards our research and teaching mission.

Facility Naming

The School of Chemical and Biomolecular Sciences has many laboratories and facilities that could be named in a donors honor. Typical contribution is 51% of the cost for renovation or furnishing.

Donation Mechanism

Donations to the Saluki Materials Laboratory would be handled through the Southern Illinois University Foundation. The foundation is a 501(c)(3) designated organization with IRS permission to issue tax-deductible receipts.
